Owen has always loved working with his hands, figuring out how things work, and learning new skills. He began as a toddler working with real tools (plastic ones would not suffice). He was always watching and "helping" when his grandfathers were fixing something in the house. As he grew, he continued to try new things. He took several things apart and even started fixing things! He and his cousin built a homemade forge and started making crude knives. He was always building new things in the garage like a bike ramp, an underground bunker disguised as a dog house, and all kinds of shelves and boxes. When Owen was 10 years old he was diagnosed with Lymblastic Lymphoma. For the next three and a half years he received treatments. During this time several shop owners sent Owen various machines to aid in his garage work. This was such an encouragement to him during this time. He spent many afternoons out in the garage learning to make real knives, cutting boards, kitchen utensils, and so much more. The time in his "shop" brought a lot of positive distraction and daily purpose. He started selling his products online. Owen now is cancer-free and still enjoys working in the shop with his tools doing all kinds of projects. His main focus now is producing customized key chains for companies. Through the years Owen has had lots of support from so many. He continues to be encouraged and is grateful.
